Finding Me Wherever I May Be

Alto Peak is the tallest peak in the Visayas standing at 1332 MASL and though that might not sound very tall getting to the summit is extremely challenging. To summit this difficult peak you must find a tour guide in the quiet town of Barangay Cabintan, Ormoc City on the island of Leyte in the Philippines which you can take a 6 hour overnight ferry from Cebu City to get to. I made the journey from Cebu with my friend Ryan where we met up with his brother-in-law Chris, nephew-in-law Cy, and their friend Budoy. We packed our things that morning, ate a big breakfast and set off to meet with our tour guide(1 of their friends).    The Build Up If you know me up until my trip to the Philippines one of the things I talked most about was how I was going to see Whang-Od, the legend, and to get tattooed by her or at least meet her! My friend Robe who had educated me on her and has been tattooed by her gave me all the instructions on how to get to her small mountain village in Northern Luzon. Chiang Dao Hut This cute little bungalow resort is the perfect getaway! I checked in yesterday afternoon to the Superior Bungalow, for my 2 nights amounting to $44 USD. This include my own bungalow, full bed, fan, private toilet, shower, sink, and free WiFi. The owners do not speak english very well but are extremely nice and helpful. On the patio included a hammock I really enjoyed reading in and two wooden lunges/benches that I made sure to take advantage of. There is a stunning garden/courtyard full of beauty and and amazing view of the third largest peak in Thailand! You can find many places to meditate, read, observe nature, etc.   It is less than a mile from the Chiang Dao Cave of Wat Tham that you can read about in my pervious blog posted. Finding Me Wherever I Maybe Says Sawatdeeka From Chiang Dao I decided to head to the jungle to relax before Loy Krathong in Chiang Mai. For the next couple of nights I have myself my own cute little bungalow at the Chiang Dao Hut. From Chiang Mai I caught a Tut Tut for 100 BAHT, taking me to the Chang Puak Bus station where I hoped on the orange bus for 40 BAHT. On this 3 hour adventure through towns, past lovely temples and rolling hills I made my first friend Paul.  Bus to Chiang Dao Upon arrival in Chiang Dao we took a taxi to my little bungalow for 70 Baht a piece.  Paul unfortunately went back to town but later picked me up on for my first moped ride.  We just road around the jungle at first before heading to explore the Chiang Dao Cave of Wat Tham.
