Finding Me Wherever I May Be

Getting to Jomtien and Pattaya, Thailand It’s a easy journey to Pattaya from Bangkok, I just suggest catching an earlier bus to avoid spending any longer than the 2 hours it takes to get there.   I was trying to get to Jomtien Beach which is a bit of a trek from where the bus took me. You can either walk 30-40 minutes to get there or catch a blue tut tut which should be no more than 30 BAHT from the Walking Street. I made the mistake of catching a motorbike for 100 BAHT.  Maybe Some Beach Time and Night Market   You can go hangout on Jomtien Beach which is right next to the road so you don’t get the full beach vibes but at subset the sky turns some pretty shades of blue.  Jomtien also has a Night Market on the beach avenue that has music, lots of good food and some shopping. If you are lucky you may catch the break dancers.  The Red Light District I also hit the Walking Street in Pattaya that night to see what it’s abou...

Finding My New Favorite Animal I arrived in Kanchanaburi, Thailand to get picked up from my guesthouse at 08:00 the following morning by some of the staff of Elephant Haven. I did not know that I would fall in love with elephants and never want to leave.  Upon arrival to stay overnight at Elephant Haven myself and the others got to meet a few of the ladies and had a quick run down of the history, along with safety guidelines.  From there it was time to make breakfast. Not for us of course but for the elephants. This consisted of rice banana balls and cutting watermelon. We met the rest of the herd and fed them their breakfast that they seemed very happy about. Then it was time for a stroll through the jungle where we got to observe how they lived their daily life and hangout with them. Arriving in Bangkok I hopped in a taxi from the airport to the Jeesnail Guesthouse where I would be staying for the night. My room was not ready yet so they held my bag and I set foot to the nearby market to find food to feed my hungry belly. T he market was about a 150 meter walk from the guesthouse and rather large containing fresh produce, meat and food stands. I browsed each isle seeing what all the stands had to offer before settling on some vegetarian dumplings and some sort of juice. A Stroll Down the Oldest Road in Bangkok Upon returning to Jeesnail my room was ready and I rested up briefly before my explorations.  Once I was ready to take on the city I headed out with the help of my hosts directions along with best way to execute my afternoon evening and off I went. A Special Place in My Heart What an experience I had in Chiang Mai for only 4.5 days there and barely scratched the surface. I spent most of my time within the walls of the Old City while here wandering the streets, going in and out of shops, getting all sorts of different food and smoothies from many different places, partaking in activities, meditating in Wat Pha Bong Temple, and just enjoying myself at my own pace. The city really doesn't start to buzz until 08:00 and quiet hours start at 00:00 with the walls. You can find vintage shops, enjoy massages, leave the walls for outdoor excursions, and just meander around. There is so much to do and whether you are there for a few days or much longer so if you find yourself to this city one of these days(which you should) and you will not be disappointed. Oh, the Colors, Sounds, Lights, Food and People! If you are ever in Chiang Mai, Thailand on a Sunday make to stop by the Sunday Night Market within the Old City near the Eastern Gates. Earlier in the day while chillin on my rooftop I made friends with three of the most loveliest and funniest ladies. Once we worked up an appetite we hit the streets to the Sunday Night Market. It is quiet the good time exploring, dancing around, gawking at the goods and eating lots of yummy food.  This market is massive! How many blocks it takes up, I have no clue. What I do know is that the food was delicious, I had chicken on a stick from two different stands both equally awesome and some fried chicken gyoza, nom nom nom.  Are you looking to do some shopping or to just marvel at what the vendors sell?
