Finding Me Wherever I May Be

Alto Peak is the tallest peak in the Visayas standing at 1332 MASL and though that might not sound very tall getting to the summit is extremely challenging. To summit this difficult peak you must find a tour guide in the quiet town of Barangay Cabintan, Ormoc City on the island of Leyte in the Philippines which you can take a 6 hour overnight ferry from Cebu City to get to. I made the journey from Cebu with my friend Ryan where we met up with his brother-in-law Chris, nephew-in-law Cy, and their friend Budoy. We packed our things that morning, ate a big breakfast and set off to meet with our tour guide(1 of their friends). Party Time! Oh boy! What a crazy night I had in Ao Nang. I hadn't partied at all in Thailand and thought "why not". From Koh Pha-ngan  I took the ferry and 2 buses to get to Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand. There were a few others headed that way sitting behind me on the bus and I overheard them talking about this certain party hostel they would be staying at. On the 2nd bus I sat next to one of the guys I overheard talking on the last bus. I asked him where he was staying and if he mind if I followed him to this hostel. Checkin The minibus dropped us in front of the Balcony Party Hostel where I would spend the next 2 nights. I opted out of having my own room to stay in a 10 person mixed dorm, which I have done nothing like since my arrival in Thailand. Chill Reggae Vibes of Koh Pha-ngan My time here was spent relaxing and soaking up the island vibes. So are you ready to spend time on a beautiful lush island with some reggae feels?  If you travel from Pattaya like I did it takes you 28 hours including layovers by bus, sleeper train, and ferry. I would suggest leaving from Bangkok if you aren't already in that Southern area. After some suggestions and thought decided to head to the Northern part of the island, Haad Yao, where it was much quieter and relaxing. Finding My New Favorite Animal I arrived in Kanchanaburi, Thailand to get picked up from my guesthouse at 08:00 the following morning by some of the staff of Elephant Haven. I did not know that I would fall in love with elephants and never want to leave.  Upon arrival to stay overnight at Elephant Haven myself and the others got to meet a few of the ladies and had a quick run down of the history, along with safety guidelines.  From there it was time to make breakfast. Not for us of course but for the elephants. This consisted of rice banana balls and cutting watermelon. We met the rest of the herd and fed them their breakfast that they seemed very happy about. Then it was time for a stroll through the jungle where we got to observe how they lived their daily life and hangout with them.
