Finding Me Wherever I May Be

Wow this is really it... It’s time to say goodbye Malaysia after a month and a half together 😣 During my time here I have learned so incredibly much about the country, culture, Islam, myself, how to speak a bit of Malay, and the way of life here. I’ve gone through heartache and pure joy 💓 I am so endlessly grateful that I got the opportunity to volunteer my time with Meow Island Malaysia, all the time I got to spend with old friends and new friends, hiking and camping the oldest jungle in the world, hitchhiked almost the entirety of my travels here, all but a few nights staying with my friends and other locals, the food is incredible and the people are even more fantastic. Thank you so much everyone for all you’ve done for me, for bringing me into your homes, the fun adventures, sharing meals with me, and doing all you can to ensure I’m comfortable and happy. (Government Camp, Oregon) April 1st was the start of a new beginning for me. I left my home, job, and many friends behind on my cozy mountain town of Government Camp, Oregon. Since then I spent two weeks floating around the Portland area visiting many friends and to some of my favorite places. The 15th of April some of my favorite people, my fluffy Juku and I went out to Beverly Beach on the Oregon Coast to have final hoorah before making my way back to my hometown of Reno, NV.  (Devils Punch Bowl, Oregon) Juku, my friend Jere and I took the 101 down stopping at various coastal spots, taking the magnificent Avenue of the Giants in California, gawking at the giant red woods. Our third and final stop on the road being in Napa California to see some friends. (Avenue of the Giants, California) Since April 18th I have been in Reno, Nevada spending time with my family, friends, and going on awesome adventures. I have developed a love for harnessing up to jump from tree...

It all starts with a jar...  For me it was a pickle jar(I have this habit where I don't like things finding their way to landfills so I find a way to avoid that when I can)... I started covering thus jar with stickers and began adding change too from my tips bartending, the café I work at, and the coins left over from paying cash.  My problem with the jar was that I kept taking the change out of it for various reasons until the beginning of June of this year when I seriously started putting change in this jar and not taking out of it.  In that short 4 months I racked up $79.26 after the $2 fee at Clackamas County Bank! That potentially could build up to $320 if you don't touch it for a full year! The this concept is great. All you have to do is find a jar/container to add all the change to it until it's completely full and then cash it in for your next big adventure!

I went up to Sun River, OR March 7-9, 2012. Not very many people were there while we were. All of the surrounding cabins were empty. The weather was nice, had a little snow fall but not much and was partly sunny. There is a little shopping area there called The Village, they have a nice bookstore, coffee shop, grocery store, a place to rent gear for snow activities, and more. Beautiful views and the cabins are neutral color so they do not distract your eye from the beautiful wild life. I will be going there again in the Summer and will provide more pictures.
