The Change Jar

It all starts with a jar... 
For me it was a pickle jar(I have this habit where I don't like things finding their way to landfills so I find a way to avoid that when I can)... I started covering thus jar with stickers and began adding change too from my tips bartending, the café I work at, and the coins left over from paying cash. 
My problem with the jar was that I kept taking the change out of it for various reasons until the beginning of June of this year when I seriously started putting change in this jar and not taking out of it. 
In that short 4 months I racked up $79.26 after the $2 fee at Clackamas County Bank! That potentially could build up to $320 if you don't touch it for a full year!
The this concept is great. All you have to do is find a jar/container to add all the change to it until it's completely full and then cash it in for your next big adventure!

Are you ready to adventure a whole island and see every beach it has to offer in a relaxing pace? Well here you go.  Then set sail from the piers in Pattaya near the Walking Street, the earlier the better. Where to Stay in Chiang Mai, Thailand Upon arriving back to Chiang Mai, Thailand with no set place to stay I wandered the Old City in search of the perfect place. I wandered in and out of many places inquiring about prices and checking out the rooms. My new friend Paul had suggested using HostelWorld to find good, cheap places. With this lovely little website I found Vida Guesthouse where I spent the last 3 nights. This cute little guesthouse was perfect! The staff is very friendly and bilingual making communication a breeze. I did not book ahead a time, which when you do this you do not have to pay until the end of your stay. You have a little book with your room number and where you can log the drinks that you take from the fridge to be billed at checkout. Finding My New Favorite Animal I arrived in Kanchanaburi, Thailand to get picked up from my guesthouse at 08:00 the following morning by some of the staff of Elephant Haven. I did not know that I would fall in love with elephants and never want to leave.  Upon arrival to stay overnight at Elephant Haven myself and the others got to meet a few of the ladies and had a quick run down of the history, along with safety guidelines.  From there it was time to make breakfast. Not for us of course but for the elephants. This consisted of rice banana balls and cutting watermelon. We met the rest of the herd and fed them their breakfast that they seemed very happy about. Then it was time for a stroll through the jungle where we got to observe how they lived their daily life and hangout with them.
